The voice is the muscle of the soul
Everything is made up of vibrations and has a specific frequency. As far back as 500 BC, the Greek philosopher Pythagoras was experimenting with sound as a healing tool. According to Pythagoras, "Each celestial body, in fact each and every atom produces a particular sound on account of its movement, its rhythm or vibration. All these sounds and vibrations form a universal harmony in which each element contributes to the whole."

Voice yoga, also called Nada yoga is internal massage using vibrations from your own voice. Nada in Sanskrit means 'sound' or 'flow'. Yoga means 'union'. The practices of Nada yoga can be seen as the union or flowing into sound. In this yoga form we explore our individual sound and at the same we tune in with the group, and become part of creating a universal harmony. Liberating the voice is also part of the process of finding out "who am I" in this world.

In a class we play with sounds. We explore our vocal expressions from the heart, transforming our own emotions and sound into form. We find a space for self empowerment and a place for inner peace. Using the power of our own vocal tones we can physically, mentally and emotionally dissolve anxiety and tension.
  The body as an instrument
Voice Flow Yoga is not only about the voice. We combine vocal expressions and chakra tuning with postures, breathing exercises and movements from Hatha Yoga to strenghten the body, increase the breathing capacity and bring stillness to the mind. We create a healthy physical foundation from which to explore the voice, the inner self. Sound, Posture, Breath, Movement, and Consciousness flow into one.

"In leading the Yoga Classes at the Centre for Women in Crisis, Marie managed to create much needed moments of calm and harmony. This aided recovery and helped the women gather strength and gain new energy. Her classes were perfectly adapted to the changing needs, situations and constraints of the participants. We were very happy with Marie's effort with us and can highly recommend her!"

"Marie, your yoga was loving and joyful. I learned to breathe, to be here, right now, simply to reside both physically and spiritually in myself. I always surprised myself with your guidance. I became stronger, smoother, safer and happier. Many of my fears and pain said "thank you and goodbye" during and after your yoga sessions. The combination of soft, slow, and quiet movements with some more challenging physical exercises was always balanced and enjoyable. Thanks Marie for the tool I got from you."
